Special Meeting
June 2, 2004
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Balsavage called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Franklin Township Municipal Building located at 150 Century Lane, Dillsburg, PA.
ROLL CALL
Present were Supervisors Ed Balsavage, Naomi Decker, Larry Lambert, John Shambaugh, Secretary Linda Hansen. Visitors included: Brian Gayman and Rodney Decker.
ORDER OF BUSINESS
The only item of discussion is the addition of a road worker. Ed Balsavage made a motion to hire Brian Gayman as a full time road worker as outlined in the employee handbook with the understanding that he is eligible for vacation time as outlined, holiday pay as outlined, contribution to the employee’s retirement plan as outline. The pay rate will be $14.50 per hour. Brian Gayman said he has not made a decision yet. Ed Balsavage said this is giving Gary the ability to offer the position to Brian. Naomi Decker stated since Brian has not made a decision the Board may want to give Gary the ability to hire another individual. Ed Balsavage amended his motion to allow Roadmaster Ocker to offer the full time road worker position to any individual with the above mentioned rate of pay and benefits. Larry Lambert seconded the motion. Health benefits are not being offered with the position. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Ed Balsavage previously said he would go to the upcoming Yellow Breeches Watershed workshop but he has a conflict in his schedule and can not go. If any one else is interested they are welcome to go.
Brian Gayman asked if health benefits would be offered in the future. Ed Balsavage said the wage set takes into account that health benefits would not be paid.
Naomi Decker got another estimate for garage doors at the Ponderosa from Terry Dougherty. At $1450.00 it is slightly higher than the one from Baker.
Larry Lambert made a motion seconded by John Shambaugh to adjourn. Meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
